FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to quality control over pipes with crimps (dents). Proposed method consists in measurement of dent depth with the help of slide gage and dent length by ruler. Note here that at points with minimum radius of curvature in the area of crimp (dent) defined are strains in circular and lengthwise cross-sections. Said strains are compared with magnitudes of marginal strains at the pipeline first damageability stage decreased with allowance for operating conditions factor of inspected pipeline. Note here that crimps (dents) are considered smooth if strains at points with minimum radius of curvature do not exceed marginal strains at said pipeline first damageability stage decreased with allowance for operating conditions factor of inspected pipeline.
EFFECT: higher reliability of pipeline operation.
