FIELD: pipeline transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to steel overhead gas pipelines. The above-ground gas pipeline consists of steel pipes and supports. The wall thicknesses of the pipes of the span sections outside the circumferential welded joints, located no closer than a certain distance from the supports, are 1.1 times less than the wall thicknesses of the pipes of the support sections located within the mentioned circumferential welded joints. The indicated distances from the supports are no closer than 200 mm for gas pipelines with a diameter of up to 200 mm and no closer than 300 mm for gas pipelines with a diameter of more than 200 mm.
EFFECT: purpose of the invention is to optimize the wall thickness of an overhead gas pipeline, taking into account the level of stress-strain state, the likelihood of damage to individual sections and operational safety from the point of view of the possibility of timely diagnostic and repair work.
