FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: retinoschisis is staged. If the patient suffers stage I retinoschisis characterised by limited retinal dissection, vessel elevation and presence of an intraretinal fluid, barrier laser coagulation is performed by means of a diode laser on the cyst periphery, in the entire area of the cyst and along the vessel within retinoschisis. If observing stage II retinoschisis characterised by progressing retinoschisis with no clear limit between schisis and an intact retina, staged translational laser coagulation by means of the diode laser to block a limited portion of retinoschisis completely or to resorb the intraretinal fluid completely providing bullous retinoachisis with no demarcation line, barrier laser coagulation is performed. Stage III retinoschisis characterising by the fact that retinoschisis takes two quadrants or more with extensive cavities, disruptions, haemorrhages and potential transition into a limited retinal detachment requires staged translational laser coagulation by means of the diode laser.
EFFECT: method enables improving the functional effect, reducing a risk of fibrosis of macular region.
