FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly to movable melting hearth to be used with smelting furnace with wall having metal loading opening. Melting hearth comprises body displacing relative to furnace to contact with its wall in the area of said inlet opening and getting out of contact therefrom. Said body comprises outer walls to confine inner chamber except for lateral wall connected with furnace provided with opening communicated with said inner chamber. Said inner chamber comprises bottom to support metal scarp load. Note here that opening is located relative to said bottom so that fused metal can flow through inner chamber via said opening. Said bottom is located at the angle to horizontal plane with downward inclination towards said opening when body stays in tight contact with furnace wall and opening is aligned with furnace opening. Invention disclosed the versions of smelting complex with smelting furnace and movable melting heath.
EFFECT: ruled out heat losses, ease of scrap loading.
