FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery and vertebrology, and concerns measuring intra-disc pressure (IDP) in vertebral injuries. That is ensured by a typical disc puncture with a discography needle connected to an infusion system for fluid management to be filled with a sterile physiological saline. That is followed by a gradual increase of the system as long as the physiological solution drop hangs up therein. The IDP is determined in mm WG by measuring a water gauge height from an upper horizontal fluid level in the system to a respective spinous process of the punctured disc.
EFFECT: simple and easy method for measuring the IDP is effective, reliable and can be used to refine a surgical extent on the vertebral discs.
