FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method of preparing butyl rubber solution in a hydrocarbon solvent is carried out in a vertical cylindrical apparatus having a mixing area in which a mixer is installed, the mixer being a stator and a rotor with vertical rods, a dissolving area lying above the mixing area, and a settling area below the mixing area, into which an aqueous suspension of rubber crumbs under the mixer and a solvent are fed, and the rubber solution is circulated from the dissolving area into two areas - the mixing area and the dissolving area in ratio of 1:(5-10), and the aqueous suspension of rubber crumbs is fed under the mixer. The dissolver comprises a vertical housing with nozzles for feeding a dispersion medium - polymer pulp, feeding a solvent and outlet of the solution and water, and a solution outlet nozzle for providing circulation, inside of which the mixer is located on an axis, said mixer being in form of a rotor and a stator in form of horizontal frames with spokes, which divides the dissolver into three areas: a mixing area, a dissolving area and a settling area. The mixing area has a smaller diameter which is equal to 0.8-0.9 times the diameter of the dissolving area and the settling area. The nozzle for feeding the polymer pulp is located in the upper part of the settling area lower than mixer. The dissolver is further provided with two solution inlet nozzles for providing circulation, one of which is located in the dissolving area over the mixer and the other is located in the settling area directly below the mixer.

EFFECT: invention reduces power consumption when dissolving polymers and improves reliability of dissolution and demixing.
