FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: method of predicting the risk of methane and dust explosions in mines is proposed, comprising the experimental determination of the intensity of methane and dust emission at the excavation site, the measurement of the air flow rate and the concentration of methane in it and dust content in the mine air, determination of the ignition temperature of methane and dust, and the frequency of emergency situations. At that the air flow rate and the concentrations of methane in the mine atmosphere is measured in the process of reduction of the parameters of the area ventilation. According to the measurement data the dynamics of the air flow rate reduction and the increase in the concentration of methane prior to its explosive value in the mixture with air is determined. In addition, the ignition temperature of methane and dust is determined at the depth of mining operations at the actual pressure and humidity of air, and the risk of explosion of methane and dust mixture is determined by the product of frequency of emergency situations on the air flow rate, the content of methane and dust.
EFFECT: increase in reliability of predicting the risk of methane and dust explosions in mines in the case of reducing the ventilation parameters at the existing excavation sites.
