METHOD OF NICKEL-HYDROGEN BATTERY OPERATION IN INDEPENDENT POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM OF SPACECRAFT AND INDEPENDENT POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC H01M10/44

Abstract RU 2529011 C2

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: offered invention relates to electric engineering and can be used at making nickel-hydrogen accumulator batteries and independent power supply systems of space vehicles (SV). The assigned task is solved by that the thermostatic control of surfaces of accumulator batteries which are thermally interfaced with cold plate, is performed by forced heating of tops of hemispheres of accumulator batteries by electric heaters. Besides, the thermostatic control of surfaces of accumulator batteries that are not thermally interfaced with cold plate, by forced heating of tops of hemispheres of accumulator batteries by electric heaters is performed during the process of storage of the accumulator battery in a charged state, when there is no charging and discharging currents. Meanwhile in an independent power supply system of space vehicle for implementation of the method the charging converters are designed with two levels of limitation by output voltage: activated charge level and deactivated charge level, the latter one - with the voltage less than one of disconnected circuit of the accumulator battery, besides at the output of charging converters additional rectifiers are installed for connecting of all electric heaters connected in a series circuit through controllable switches of this circuit.

EFFECT: improvement of reliability of operation of nickel-hydrogen accumulator battery for space vehicle.
