FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to assessment of oxygen concentration at the outlet of a diesel oxidation catalyst inside a diesel engine system. Substance of the invention: the method to assess oxygen concentration at the outlet of the diesel oxidation catalyst (6) inside the diesel engine system (1), including an inlet header (4), a combustion chamber, an outlet header (3) and a diesel oxidation catalyst (6) arranged at the discharge line into a diesel particulate trap (7). The method includes: detection of mass flow of unburnt fuel released from the combustion chamber, detection of mass share of air in the outlet header (4), assessment of mass share of air at the outlet of the diesel oxidation catalyst (6) as the function of the specified mass flow of unburnt fuel and the specified share of air in the outlet header (4), assessment of oxygen concentration at the outlet of the diesel oxidation catalyst (6) as the function from the assessed mass share of air at the outlet of the diesel oxidation catalyst (6).
EFFECT: increased efficiency of oxygen concentration assessment at the outlet of the diesel oxidation catalyst inside systems of diesel engines.
