SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry and can be used for control over ICEs for carriers to be operated at difficult regions. Claim describes the characteristic (2, 3, 4) of the dependence of maximum permissible torque on ICE shaft rpm. Said ICE has control unit to adjust output torque and engine rpm so that they do not fall beyond aforesaid dependence set by at least one interval (n0-n1) of torque increase, range (n0-n1) constant outputs and range (n2-n3) of torque linear decrease. Torque linear decrease range is set so that engine rpm decrease at engine high output while at low output engine rpm increase.
EFFECT: fuel saving at sufficient engine controllability.
