FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: said composition contains powder of a gel-forming polymer which is xanthane gum or hydroxyethyl cellulose at pH 1-6, and aqueous hydrofluoric acid solution, the vapour of which is used to clean an ionisation chamber.
EFFECT: invention enables to clean the inside of a photoionisation detector from contaminants, including a lamp window from silicon dioxide, without dismantling the detector with complete restoration of performance.
