FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacture of a smokeless tobacco product - snus that envisages thorough selection of tobacco raw material, milling, sieve fractioning, collection of the raw material fraction having passed through a sieve with cell diameter equal to 1×1 mm, nicotine content determination, the collected tobacco raw material fraction mixing with a preliminarily prepared water solution of food salt, thorough stirring and maintenance of the produced homogenous mixture, determination of its pH and introduction of acidity regulator (sodium bicarbonate), pasteurisation and cooling; the produced mixture, is added standard solution of food gelatine to and forced through varied configuration drawing dies to produce 0.3-0.5 g granules that are slightly dried and packaged into an air-tight package, with the target product component composition being as follows, wt %: milled tobacco raw material - 57.0-64.0, food salt - 3.0, sodium bicarbonate - 0.5-1.5, standard solution of food gelatine - 10.0, distilled water - balance up to 100% target product.

EFFECT: technical effect consists in improvement of the product sanitary-and-hygienic characteristics, increased safety of consumption and extended storage life.
