SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system, a software application and a method of displaying third-party media content in public places. The technical result is providing an arbitrary duration of displaying priority presentation conttent in addition to any content provided by a main presentation application. The main presentation application is configured to cause the display device to display main display content as a main presentation, and the priority presentation application is configured to cause the display device to display priority display content as a priority presentation, and to exclude the main presentation of the main presentation application from the display device for the entire duration of the priority presentation, and is further configured to be launched by a signal received from the main presentation application, such that the priority presentation application is launched through launch signal information which is included and encoded in at least one of the main presentation content and a content playlist.

EFFECT: technical result is achieved owing to a system for displaying media content which includes a display device and a display controller; the display controller is a computer storing a main presentation application and a priority presentation application which can operate concurrently on the CPU of the computer.
