FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in alkylation of the primary amine, selected from benzilamine or amylamine, with 4-chloromethyl-1,3-dioxolane in the presence of a catalyst with the molar ratio of components: primary amine: 4-chloromethyl-1,3-dioxolane: catalyst =1:0.8:0.06 until the secondary amine N-alkyl-(1,3-dioxolan-4-ylmethyl)amine is obtained. The obtained secondary amine is alkylated with 2-chloromethyl-hem.-dichlorocyclopropane with a molar ratio N-alkyl-(1,3-dioxolan-4-ylmethyl)amine: 2-chloromethyl-hem.-dichlorocyclopropane =3:1. As the catalyst in obtaining the secondary amine, triethylbenzylammonium chloride (TEBAC) is preferably applied.
EFFECT: novel tertiary amines, possessing herbicidal properties.
