FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a palladium catalyst on an aluminium oxide support for low-temperature oxidation of carbon monoxide. The disclosed method includes preparing an impregnating solution by dissolving palladium chloride in water, impregnating the support with said solution, reducing palladium with sodium formate, washing the impregnated support with water to a negative reaction on a chloride ion and then drying. To enable oxidation of carbon monoxide with initial concentration thereof of up to 100 MPC inclusively, with conversion of carbon monoxide of not less than 95% for not less than 8 hours, impregnation of the support is carried out by simultaneously immersing all of its particles in the impregnating at 70-90°C. Said solution contains 1.5-1.75% palladium, wherein the ratio of the volume of the solution to the volume of the support is taken in the range of (1.15-1.30):1.
EFFECT: present method enables to obtain a catalyst which efficiently operates in critical operating conditions.
