FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: use: in the field of electric engineering. A device (22) of protection against thermal overload comprises a shorting device (24) to short leads (12, 14) of a component (10) by means of their connection with the help of soldered joints to appropriate current conducting paths (18, 20) and a heat-sensitive actuating element (26), causing actuation of the shorting device (24). According to the invention, it is provided that the shorting device (24) is fixed by at least one section (28) on a substrate (16) with the current conducting paths and rests by at least one other section (30) via the actuating element (26) at the component (10), installed on the substrate (16) with the current conducting paths, and/or at least on one of the current conducting paths (18, 20), which contact with one of the shorted leads (12, 14). Such invention relates to the appropriate layout (36), made of the substrate (16) with the current conducting paths of at least one component (10) arranged on it and at least one device of protection (22) against thermal overload designed for it.
EFFECT: increased reliability of protection.
