FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: magnetic fluid seal of a nonmagnetic shaft comprises a magnetic system placed in a nonmagnetic case and composed of ring-type permanent magnets turned to each other by the like poles and pole attachments, the surfaces of which are made aflush with the magnet surfaces, the said system encloses the shaft and forms a gap with the shaft filled with the magnetic fluid. The device is fitted by a sealed resilient bellows with one its end being connected to the seal case and the other end - to the case of the unit being sealed.
EFFECT: improved retention capacity of magnetic fluid seal.
