FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: electronic device employs a mathematical model based on acceleration data to estimate power consumption of a person as a function of actual activity and acceleration values. Acceleration values are converted to a power consumption estimate for given activity by scaling the value of time-integrated acceleration data, with activity scaling parameters. The activity scaling parameters for various activities are determined separately by comparing measured power consumption, for example during the day, with estimated power consumption during the same period. The estimate is determined using a mathematical model.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of determination.
