FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: unit and methods for assembling tires vehicle wheels are suggested. Assembling unit contains multiple forming drums on which tires are assembled, and multiple pairs of supporting rings made capable to be connected with at least one of multiple forming drums and disconnected from these drums. Proposed method comprises: a′) controlled manipulating at least one forming drum not provided with supporting rings; b′) controlled manipulating at least one pair of rings disconnected from corresponding forming drum; c′) controlled manipulating at least one forming drum linked with a pair of supporting rings. Each of a′), b′) and c′) manipulations is performed independently and simultaneously relative to the rest a′), b′) and c′) manipulations during sustained mode of operation of assembling unit. Manipulation a′) includes step of removal of assembled shaped raw tire from at least one forming drum and transfer of at least one forming drum without assembled shaped raw tire to supporting rings attachment workstation for connection of at least one forming drum with a pair of supporting rings. During manipulation c′) the said at least one forming drum connected with a pair of supporting rings is transferred from supporting rings attachment workstation to warehouse for forming drums temporary storage or used to start new assembling cycle according to specifications.
