FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: tyre incorporates a carcass structure with one carcass layer. The carcass is in contact with ring-like fasteners arranged axially at a distance from each other. A breaker structure is moved to the position wherein it is aligned with the carcass structure. The carcass structure has a toroidal shape. The protector band assembly is laid upon the breaker structure in contact with the carcass structure a pair of sidewalls is laid on opposite sides of the carcass structure. The band assembly or pair of sidewalls are applied by winding a continuous elastomer material element in the form of adjacent peripheral coils. The band assembly and pair of sidewalls are applied in steps in compliance with adjustable speed of the first and second main drums. The carcass structure is laid on one of the main drums before termination of tyre assembly on the other main drum.

EFFECT: higher tyre quality and geometrical uniformity of the band assembly and side walls.
