FIELD: transport machine building.
SUBSTANCE: carcass sleeve element (19), including at least one carcass ply and two annular retaining structural elements, is installed around toroidal shaping drum (30) located in the first, radially narrowed working condition. Carcass sleeve element (19) is given a toroidal shape when it adjoins at least one radially inner surface (43a) of annular opposing element (43), when shaping drum (30) is located inside carcass sleeve element (19) and simultaneously expands to second working configuration. When the second operating condition is reached, frame-shaped hose element (19), which has a toroidal shape, is connected to shaping drum (30). Shaping drum (30), connected to carcass sleeve element (19), is made with possibility of its movement into zone near at least one device (54) for application of additional components from outside on carcass sleeve element (19).
EFFECT: method and apparatus for assembling tires are disclosed.
