FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises measurement of the slope angle of the butt of the accounted tree from the vertical and the local slope angle at the point of location of the butt at the habitat of the accounted tree. All measurements are carried out using a device having a housing with a cavity, an angle scale and an arrow rotating under its own weight. To measure the slope angle of the butt the device housing is located perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the trunk, the butt or the separate curved part of the tree. To measure the local slope angle at the point of the habitat of the accounted tree the device housing is located parallel to the local slope angle. Measurement of the local slope angle is carried out first at one side of the butt and then from another side of the butt. After the measurement the values of the measured angles are recorded in the log of measurements. The device for measuring the butt, according to the first embodiment, is made in the form of a protractor, and has an arrow rotating under its own weight. The arrow is made in the form of a thread with a lead weight attached to its one end. The second end of the thread is wrapped around the non-circular part of the protractor housing in the middle so that the node of bonding is located on the zero line of the angular scale. According to another embodiment, the device has a housing in the form of a ring with the angular 360° scale made on the inner side of the cavity around the ring. Inside the cavity on the axis the arrow is located, rotating under its own weight. To fix the arrow axle in the centre of the ring two transparent disks are fastened by screws on the sides, with four marks indicating the angles of 0, 90, 180 and 270°. According to the third embodiment, the device is made in the form of a housing with a cavity. In the middle of the cavity length the arrow is located, rotating under its own weight. The housing is made, for example, of plastic, formed into a rectangular shape, for example, with the length of 0.5, or 1.0, or 1.5 m. The arrow is mounted on the axle. The housing has at one end an additional angular cavity with an angular scale from zero to 90°. In the zero point of the scale the axle is located, with the rotatable arrow mounted freely. On the opposite side of the housing on the edges of the long side there are linear scales, for example, with centimetre and millimetre graduations for measuring linear dimensions of the butt of the accounted tree.
EFFECT: such technology and constructive implementation of the measuring devices enable to improve the accuracy of measurements.
