FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: claimed is method for purification of gas emissions from mercury by oxidation of mercury vapours. Oxidation of mercury vapours in gas flow is carried out in reactor with power of ultraviolet radiation of mercury quartz lamps. Additional gas flow, containing active particles, generated by plasma generator, is introduced into reactor. As additional gas flow supplied is air, containing as active particles ozone, electronically excited oxygen and nitrogen molecules and negative oxygen ions, with reduction of supply of additional gas flow by reactor length proportionally to reduction of mercury vapour concentration.

EFFECT: increased selectivity of purification of gas emissions from mercury, increased depth of purification of emissions from mercury.
