FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to obtaining silicon carbide powder, applied for producing components of turbines, internal combustion engines, MHD-generators, and heat exchangers. Method of carbometric synthesis of disperse silicon carbide powders includes mixing silicon dioxide and carbon-containing component, with further placement of obtained mixture into graphite crucible with lid, which is placed into outer aluminium oxide crucible, covered with layer of graphite powder, which is overlaid with layer of marshalite powder or quartz powder, heated and exposed.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify technology of silicon carbide powder synthesis.
