SUBSTANCE: drug delivery device comprises an elongated body, a rod, a piston and an indicator element. The elongated body extends along an axis and is designed for drug retaining. The piston rod extends coaxially and is built into the body, movable in the axial direction to displace the following drug doses and rotatable about the axis. The piston rod and body respectively comprise first and second guides being in a contact interaction to each other and configured to guide the piston rod inside the body sequentially. The piston is configured to be guided inside the body sequentially from a ready-to-use position into an unready-to-use position. The indicator element is mounted on the body and movable between a first angular position specifying the ready-to-use positions and a second angular position specifying the unready-to-use positions. The indicator element and piston rod respectively comprise third and fourth guides being in a contact interaction to each other thereby relating the indicator element position to the piston rod position.
