FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: multipass reversing radial forging is performed by two mutually perpendicular pairs of two-start flat dies. Squeezing deformation zone is formed in every pass along forging axis and aligned with gaging zone as well as deformation gaging zone is formed. Deformation zones formed by one pair of flat dies are located along forging zone in staggered order relative to deformation zones formed by another pair of flat dies. Every pair of flat dies produces at the workpiece an extra gaging zone to be located between said aligned zone and gaging zone.
EFFECT: ingot is straightened by bending in two mutually perpendicular planes, higher quality of produced work pieces.
