FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the implantation of a flexible intraocular lens (IOL) with C-shaped haptic portions in the preloaded system. To this effect, a protective cap is removed from a glider. A viscoelastic is introduced into the glider. An IOL is placed into a cartridge by positioning the glider down. The glider is removed. The IOL is advanced to reach a working hole of the cartridge by pressing a piston. Then an ophthalmic surgical microspatula is projected in the opposite direction from the piston, and the leading haptic portion of the IOL shaped as a question mark is folded. The cartridge is inserted into the corneal incision.

EFFECT: reducing the injurious exposure of the injector on the corneal tissue within the implantation area, increasing the safety of the implantation procedure, reducing a risk of the intra- and postoperative implantation complications accompanying cataract phakoemulsification with no additional manipulations with the piston in the tunnel corneal incision.
