FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for RSP-3 intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in the surgical management of cataract complicated with pseudoexfoliation syndrome, lens subluxation, and posterior capsular rupture. A corneal incision 2.2 mm wide is made. The IOL is implanted by means of a cartridge and a soft piston injector with preserving the capsular sac and bringing an anterior portion of the IOL into the anterior chamber to an anterior surface of the iris. A posterior portion of the IOL is put into the capsular sac extended by a viscoelastic with a pre-made capsulorrhexis 6-7 mm in diameter. After the IOL is implanted by means of the reverse Simcoe cannula brought from the IOL side into a space between the posterior surface of the IOL and the posterior lens capsule, the viscoelastic is removed from the capsular sac. If the patient suffers a pre- or intraoperative mydriasis of more than 6 mm, an interrupted suture is applied on the sphincter muscle of the pupil.

EFFECT: method enables preventing retinal detachment and ruptures, cystoid macular oedema, age-related macular degeneration progression, and also provides achieving high postoperative visual acuity and stable position of the IOL.
