FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: method includes control system, cylinders with compressor and power module pistons, gas distribution valves and external combustion chamber, according to invention the control system monitors the instantaneous speeds of the compressor and power module pistons in both compressor cylinders, determines time of closing and duration of the closed position of the appropriate gas distribution valves, and, if during pistons oscillation the speed of the compressor and power module pistons in one cylinder is below the speed of the compressor and power module pistons in the another cylinder the control system closes the gas distribution valve of the cylinder in which speed of the compressor and power module pistons is below the speed of the compressor and power module pistons in the another cylinder; as result supply of the combustion products from the external combustion chamber is terminated, and speed of the compressor and power module pistons in the cylinder with closed gas distribution valve decreases, then at time moment when speed of the compressor and power module pistons in the cylinder with closed gas distribution valve achieves value ensuring simultaneous arrival of the compressor and power module pistons to the endpoint in both compressor cylinders, the control system re-opens the closed gas distribution valve.

EFFECT: invention ensures synchronisation of pistons movement of the free piston with opposite pistons movement of the power module connected with gas compressor.
