SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PARTICLE FILTRATION Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61M5/165

Abstract RU 2539989 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medical equipment. A filtration device comprises a filtering element comprising a first flow chamber having a supply input designed for receiving a supplied substance containing particles and a fluid, and a retentate output, a second flow chamber having a distal end having a filtrate output, and a filter arranged between the first flow chamber and the second flow chamber. The filter comprises a first line of columns and a number of pores formed by gaps between the adjoining columns. Each pore has a physical pore size determined by the distance between the adjoining columns forming a pore, and an effective pore size less than the physical pore size. The first flow chamber, the second flow chamber and the filter are configured to provide flow rates through the pores less than those at the first flow chamber input to retain the biological particles having the size exceeding the effective pore size and less than the physical pore size, in the form of the retenate in the first flow chamber, and to pass a fluid fraction in the form of the filtrate into the second flow chamber. There are also disclosed method for particle filtration, the retenate prepared by implementing the method, and also an alternative version of the method for filtration differing by using the microfluid device.

EFFECT: providing the filtration of greater volumes of the sample with maintaining cell viability and high yield.
