SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transfer operations on the sea and relates to supplying pipes from a transport ship to a pipe-lay ship. The method to transfer pipes from a transport ship to a pipe-lay ship provides for gripping of pipes in a hold of the transport ship and release of pipes in the required position inside the transfer station on the transport ship with the help of a manipulator installed on the transport ship, and directing of the gripping device connected to the crane into the required position on the transfer station. The technical result consists in increased safety of a pipe transfer operation, also under conditions of confused sea.
EFFECT: system and method are also proposed to transfer pipes from a transport ship to a pipe-lay ship.
