FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: separation method of cobalt and nickel from sulphurous solutions is performed by extraction of cobalt with an organic phase containing di(2,4,4-trimethyl pentyl)dithiophosphinic acid (Cyanex 301) in a solvent, in presence of trialkyl phosphine oxide, where alkyl has fraction of C6-C8, at molar ratio of Cyanex 301 : trialkyl phosphine oxide = 1:0.25×1.5. Extraction is performed during 2-3 minutes. Then, re-extraction is performed with solutions of mineral acids.
EFFECT: improvement of separation of cobalt and nickel from sulphate solutions due to increase of cobalt and nickel separation coefficients.
