SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal extractants of formula (I) and salts thereof, a method of producing compounds of formula from phosphines of formula , where R1 and R2 are different and denote -CH2-CHR3R4 or -CR3(CH2R5)R6, where R3 denotes methyl or ethyl, R4 and R6 denote an optionally substituted alkyl or heteroalkyl, R5 denotes H, an optionally substituted alkyl or heteroalkyl, or R5, R6 and an ethylene group with which they are bonded form an optionally substituted 5- or 6-member cycloalkyl or heterocycloalkyl ring, the substitutes being selected from alkyl, hydroxyl, halogen, alkoxyl, alkylthio group, carboxy group and acetyl group; X and Y independently denote O or S; except (2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)-(1-methylcyclohexyl)phosphinic acid or (2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)-(1-ethylcyclohexyl)phosphinic acid, or sulphur-containing derivatives thereof. The method involves obtaining a phosphine of formula (II) by reacting a phosphine of formula R1PH2 with an olefin of formula CH2=CHR3R4 or HR5C=CR3R6 and then reacting the obtained phosphine with an oxidant or sulphur, or oxidation thereof to phosphine oxide followed by treatment with sulphur. Novel compounds of formula (I) are disclosed.
EFFECT: high efficiency of metal extractants and a novel efficient method of producing said extractants.
