FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed spark plug comprises body with circular side electrode, central electrode secured concentrically in said body via insulator and semiconductor element is composed of the ring connected with electrodes. Said plug has the cavity formed by working surfaces of electrodes and side surface of side semiconductor element and communicated via side electrode central bore with combustion chamber. Central electrode extends in said cavity. Working surfaces of electrodes and semiconductor element side surface are tapered to make a circular clearance converging toward side electrode central bore. Said central electrode has plasma-forming air feed channel. Said channel has several outlets at central electrode conical surface. In compliance with one version, plasma-forming channels extend through insulator and semiconductor element while outlets of channels are located at semiconductor material surface between central and side electrodes. In compliance with another version, plasma-forming air channels extend through side electrode. Note here that outlets of said channels are located in the cavity between central and side electrodes above semiconductor material surface.
EFFECT: longer life, breakdown voltage independent of pressure.
