FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by analysis of power plant temperature and mechanical characteristics of a fan electric drive, at the same time signals of feedback are sent to a mathematical model unit by temperature of a power plant, as well as signals of temperature setpoints, on the basis of which settings are generated for frequency of fan shaft rotation, which arrive to a mode selecting unit, at the same time it calculates the necessary voltage and frequency value of current supplied to a stator winding of an induction motor by means of a frequency converter to ensure minimum capacity of losses and maximum efficiency. In the device comprising an AC power source, a mathematical model unit, a mode selecting unit, a cooling fan, a power plant temperature sensor, according to the invention, to the power supply source a semiconductor frequency converter is connected, which supplies the induction motor with a squirrel-cage rotor, the shaft of which is connected to the cooling fan shaft.
EFFECT: expanded range of frequency of cooling fan shaft rotation and increased area of controlled temperature, improved weight and dimension and operational characteristics of a regulator.
