FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: industrial tomographic scanner comprises a hard deceleration radiation source placed at a distance from the object which enables a fan-shaped radiation beam to overlap part of the section of the object, a scanner which provides rotational movement only, a fixed detector unit, a control computer and software. The radiation source is configured to turn about an axis which is perpendicular to the plane of the tomogram and passes through the focus of the radiation beam, and is located at a distance from the object, which enables the fan-shaped radiation beam to overlap less than half of the section of the object and the fan-shaped radiation beam to overlap half of the section of the object in a rotation cycle.

EFFECT: enabling scanning of large-size articles with high quality of the obtained tomogram in a sufficiently short period of time without increasing the size of the tomographic scanner.
