FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and may be used for contactless detection, determination of speed, direction of motion and length of extended industrial objects with the purpose to control their movement, cut-out, positioning. The device comprises an optic fibre raster sensor formed by two groups of optic fibres displaced relative to each other by one period of raster, a two-channel photodetector unit, where optical signals are converted into electric ones, which are further exposed to frequency filtration, conversion into digital signals and processing in a computing device. In the invention a combination of raster and correlation methods is used. Besides, the first one is used for accurate determination of speed in a working range of the device, the second one - to measure low speeds, to detect an object, to determine direction of its motion.
EFFECT: provision of contactless detection, determination of speed, direction of motion and length of extended industrial objects with the purpose to control their movement, cut-out, positioning.
