FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method includes layering carbon fibres or carbon fibre fabric on the working surface of a shaping element. The base (1) of the shaping element has protrusions (2) in the form of cylinders with cone-shaped vertices. The shape and size of the protrusions (2) match the shape and size of openings made in the electrode. The shaping element is made by laser stereolithography. The material of the element used is a photopolymeric composite material. Interwoven carbon fibres are coated with a binding substance and the workpiece undergoes preliminary heat treatment. Heat treatment includes raising temperature in steps, raising pressure acting on the workpiece, cooling the workpiece and lowering pressure to ambient pressure. The shaping element is removed after preliminary heat treatment by heating to a temperature higher than the melting point of the material. Openings a given shape are formed in the electrode workpiece as a result of burning out the shaping element. Thermal decomposition of the binding substance in the perforated workpiece is then carried out until carbon-carbon composite material forms.

EFFECT: high quality of electrodes by preventing residual deformations, high accuracy of making openings in electrodes and enabling production of perforated electrodes with an irregular shape of channels of the openings.
