FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves the daily exposure of an involved extremity to a low-frequency pulse current. The exposure continues for 10 minutes through Lymphavision electrodes applied along the lymph nodes. The first 2-3 procedures are performed in the prevention mode, and the stimulation mode is actuated from the 3-4th procedure. The therapeutic course is 6-8 sessions. That is followed by a 20-30-minute mechanical therapy 20 minutes later. If it is the upper extremity that is involved, the mechanical therapy generated by ARTROMOT E2 apparatus covers an elbow joint. The lower extremity injured requires the mechanical therapy of the knee joint by ARTROMOT K1 apparatus. The therapeutic course involves 15 daily procedures.
EFFECT: method reduces the length of treatment by a faster regression of a periarticular oedema and joint contraction, thereby recovering the range of motions of the involved extremity, the muscular tone and functional status of the segments, normalising the microvasulature, and improving the children's quality of life.
