FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to catheters for irrigation ablation of tissue. The catheter comprises an ablation device, an irrigation opening and an ultrasonic probe. The ultrasonic probe is mounted behind or inside the irrigation opening of the catheter and configured so that to enable an irrigation fluid flowing from the irrigation opening, transmitting and/or receiving ultrasonic waves through the irrigation opening and enabling the ultrasonic waves generated by the ultrasonic probe passing through the irrigation opening undistorted. A method for ablation is provided by an ablation system, which comprises a controlled power source, a manipulator connected thereto, which has a catheter at the distal end, and an imaging and control device connected to the power source and manipulator.
EFFECT: using invention enables providing feedback controllability of the ablation process.
