FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for air heating by mixing with products of complete oxidation of hydrocarbon gas and can find use in various industries. Hot air generator includes a housing, a heat exchange section, several catalytic sections and a starting heater. When the generator is operating, some of the air is heated by the oxidation products in the heat exchange section to the lower temperature limit of the catalyst operation and supplied to the first catalytic section, in which fuel is also supplied in an amount providing the temperature of the oxidation products after it below the upper temperature limit of the operation of the catalyst. Oxidation products are then mixed with cold air to lower the mixture temperature to the lower temperature limit of the catalyst operation and the process is repeated in subsequent catalytic sections. After the last catalytic section, the products of complete oxidation of the fuel are cooled in the heat exchange section, mixed with cold air and reach the desired temperature of the hot air. When the generator is started, the air supplied to the first catalytic section is heated in the starting heater.
EFFECT: decreased metal consumption and increased explosion safety.
