FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for diagnostics of internal combustion engines. Proposed method consists in recording of noises in ICE cylinder. Recording is performed at cranking ICE shaft for 1-2 seconds by external source with shutoff fuel feed. Working noise pickup (mike) is arranged in ICE cylinder to measure nine known components. Proposed method proceeds from comparison of ICE working noise spectrum pulse shape and that of noise spectrum pulse reference. Invention discloses the order of operation of diagnostics for two- and four-stroke ICE.
EFFECT: higher validity of diagnostics.
