FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to biotechnology and provides a method of producing isoprene and a culture of recombinant cells intended for carrying out the method. Recombinant cells contain one or more nucleic acids which code isoprene synthase polypeptide, isopentenyl diphosphate-delta-isomerase (IDI) polypeptide or 1-deoxyxylulose-5-phosphatase (DXS) polypeptide and/or one or more mevalonate (MVA) pathway polypeptides, under the condition that a heterologous nucleic acid which codes isoprene synthase is definitely present in the cell. The combinant cells used can be cells of different bacteria and fungi.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain isoprene using a method of cultivating said recombinant cells with high output.
