FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: indicator of a method of treating is a numerical value - an index of necessity for surgical operation (INSO) representing total examined parameters: INSO=RE+CC+EM+IC+GEH+CTF+CPI+QL+"ЭП"+CP+IP, wherein RE is a degree of reflux oesphagitis according to the G.N.J. Tytgat modified Savary-Miller endoscopic classification; CC is the complicated clinical course; EM is extra-oesophageal manifestations; IC is a degree of incompetent cardiac sphincter according to the A.A.Baulin endoscopic classification; GEH is gastroesophageal hernia according to the B.V.Petrovskiy and N.N.Kanshin axial hernia classification; CTF is conservative treatment failure; CPI is the clinical presentation intensity according to the self-assessment scale; QL is quality of life; CP is a concominant abdominal pathology; IP is patient's individual preferences. The derived index provides a basis to indicate a conservative treatment, or to recommend or indicate an anti-reflux surgery.
EFFECT: method enables specifying the individual approach to indications to the surgical management in the patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease for the purpose of improving close and remote therapeutic effect in the given category of patients by identifying and calculating the diagnostic criteria.
