FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: yeast strain Hansenula polymorpha - producer of recombinant protein L1 of human papillomavirus (HPV) of type 56 is proposed. The strain was obtained by introducing into the genome of yeast cell of one copy of the DNA sequence encoding the capsid protein L1 HPV of type 56, under control of AIBN promoter and one copy of DNA sequence encoding the capsid protein L1 HPV of type 56, under control of the MOX promoter. The invention can be used for microbiological production of the recombinant protein L1 HPV of type 56.
EFFECT: strain provides high yield of recombinant protein L1 HPV having antigenic and immunogenic properties of natural antigen.
