FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to plastic surgery, and can be used in the surgical management of protruding earflaps caused by the underdeveloped anthelix. An outside cartilage is mobilised from a cutaneoperichondrial flap through a through incision of the cartilage along the posterior surface. The through incision of the cartilage is 1.5 cm long within a transition of an outer leg of the anthelix into a helix. Long non-through notches are formed on the cartilage. That is followed by excising a portion of the triangular cartilage with a base facing the helix within the anthelix. Three mattress sutures are applied on the cartilage. The cartilage is sutured with an absorbable suture.
EFFECT: method provides minimising injuries, eliminating postoperative complications, maintaining the natural form of the anthelix and fast rehabilitation period, and also prevents helix contour deformities by making the cartilage incision within the transition of the outer leg of the anthelix into the helix, excising the triangular cartilage section.
