FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to quantum electronics materials and can be used as active media for low-threshold optically pumped infrared solid-state lasers, in devices for displaying sign, graphic and television information and as scintillators. The luminescent substance has the composition Li3BaCaGd3-xNdx(MoO4)8, where 0.05≤x≤0.13, and contains the following, with respect to oxides, wt %: Li2O 2.30-2.38, BaO 7.87-7.96, CaO 2.88-2.95, Gd2O3 27.89-28.06, Nd2O3 0.26-0.67, MoO3 - the balance.
EFFECT: luminescence intensity at the length of the electron transition 4F3/2→4I11/2 of a Nd3+ ion is 1,14-1,63 arbitrary units.
