FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to creation and application of expanding polymer articles for insulation or other protection of inner surfaces or devices like pipes, pipe inner butts, device inner spaces including not cylindrical ones. Expanding polymer hose includes bearing collapsible carcass and polymer hose at state elastically contracted in diameter arranged inside said carcass. Bearing carcass with polymer hose can be fitted inside article or device to be protected. Note here that polymer hose can fit tightly in hollow article inner surfaces after collapse of bearing carcass. Application of said hose consists in fitting it inside article or device. Thereafter collapsible bearing carcass is destructed to release said elastically contracted hose so that it expands elastically in diameter tight fit in article or device inner space. Expanding polymer hose material can be rubber-bearing materials and thermoplastic elastomers. Material of bearing collapsible carcass can be metal, textile or composite materials, preferably of tape shape.

EFFECT: simplified design and application, lower power input, high-quality fit in the surfaces.
