FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to methods for cytological or histological analysis. According to the method, a sample is processed to distinguish between abnormal and healthy cells. A set of sample images is produced; each of these images describes one zone of a plate to be analysed. The set of adjacent images forms the whole sample image resulting in producing the virtual plate to be analysed. The produced virtual plate is processed to colour the images. The above colouring corresponds to virtual colouring, such as Papanicolaou's, Shorr's, May-Grunwald-Giemsa's or Giemsa's stains. The processing procedure makes it possible to change the above colours and the colour intensity as the analyser thinks proper.

EFFECT: more reliable and high-quality analysis.
