FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: vacuum-plasma application of a wear-resistant coating is performed, which consists of nitride or carbonitride of titanium, chrome, aluminium, silicone and zirconium at their ratio, wt %: titanium 34.8, chrome 21.3, aluminium 10.6, silicone 1.3, zirconium 32.0. Application of the coating is performed with three cathodes horizontally located in one plane. The first cathode consists of chrome and alloy of aluminium and silicone. The second cathode consists of zirconium and is located opposite to the first one, and the third cathode consists of titanium and is located between them.
EFFECT: improving operability of a cutting tool.
